SHould the fuji f30 make a loud mechanical noise when focusing

Hello all

I have a Fuji F30. The camera is fine, however I notice when it is focusing either in macro or normal mode the zoom makes a loud mechanical, (sort of whirring noise).

Is this normal or should it be quiet when focusing.

Hi,
I've got a Fuji F11, which makes a similar noise. I was a bit concerned so went into Jessops to try another copy and that sounded the same, so whilst distracting, I assume it is supposed to sound like that.
