Had a great day om Sunday at Goodwood, here are a few pics starting with a few people

Should have taken a few more, loads dressed up, and all were happy to be snapped.

Next a few old Microcars, these were built after the war as there was a need for people to move around but without having to get on a bike.

Now my favourite, not brilliant focus but had to include it

Bill,

Some cracking panning shots of the old cars there (JCB no 18 and the one below especially). Also like the line up of old Bentleys. Nice work

Re: Goodwood Revival Meeting 2006

Thanks for the kind words Pete and Rayfin, I am actually a bit disappointed with the pictures, took about 480 in total on the day (1 every 67.5 seconds !!) and have already deleted about 250 on the first edit. Still have quite a few in the bag to show but it was getting late last night and I had to stop.

I can not get the technique right for motorsport with this camera, not sure what it is, delay in the shutter, bad focusing (pre focus on a spot in manual and try to press the button at the right point during panning), camera shake is also very evident on a lot of the shots.

It was a great oppertunity to take pictures of people, all who were dressed up seemed happy to pose, I just wish I had taken more than a half dozen or so.

The big zoom also encorages you to get up close when perhaps it would be better to use a shorter zoom and then crop for the final result.

Will have to try another event some time.

Any ideas greatly recieved (Panny FZ20)

Billl, if your camera has something like AI servo use that. Lock the focus, track the object and then shoot.
