Severn Beach nr. Bristol.

Well, it had to happen.

I packed my gear and took a drive today to try some landscape. Not great but was OK. Trouble is that it does not inspire me as portrait and street does but a nice way to spend the day with some sun on the face - though light availble did vary between clouds, hence the different looks between shots. Last one is a token HDR image.

All shot in RAW; edited in Capture One Pro and then CS2.

Thanks for looking.

Re: Severn Beach nr. Bristol.

Some great shots there Pete
That HDR shot looks more like a painting, nice pp work
I was driving over the bridge a couple of weeks ago and wondered how to get to the beach so that I could take some pics. I think I've found a way now so next time I'm heading in that direction, I might stop off.
What lens did you use Pete? Was it your 24-70L?

Thanks. Not entirely convinced by these but have always struggled with this. Composition is fine but they dont really do much and I could have used the aperture better. All shot with the 24 - 70mm.

Take the old crossing peel off on the Avonmouth B road and head for the actual village called Severn Beach - thats where I was.

Pete.

Re: Severn Beach nr. Bristol.

As someone who knows nothing about photography, I really would say that's from a technical POV.
But then, what do I know?

They're all nice pics mate, I've been there and love the view from both sides

Re: Severn Beach nr. Bristol.

Just had a look at your album.
The one dated July 29 is good.
Shocking in fact.

Pete.
Passed that village quite a few times as a shortcut when travelling down to the South West. Don't use that route anymore since the new motorway link was built but I know where you're at now

Re: Severn Beach nr. Bristol.

Nice pics, Pete, good to see you trying something different.

Like the one with the old rusty (think its a) turbo unit in the foreground, reminds me of your "wheel" shot from a few months ago.

Bill

Cheers. Actually, I think I could get into this. Been refining my PP skills and much happier with these two -

That last one is a cracker Pete. For someone who says they can't do landscapes you are doing a damn fine job
