The most cost effective way to print my photo's!?

Hi guys,

just some advise please!

I've got 100's of photo's that I want to print out and put into albums.

I was going to take them to boot's or jessops, but then I thought it might work out cheaper to buy a printer and print them out myself!? My friend said the cartridges and paper is really expensive though!?

Anyone know of a cheap (but good!) home printer system I could buy, or a cheap place to get them printed for me?

Many thanks

no its cheaper to do standard size 6x4 or 5x7 instore or online if you can be bothered uploading. Its also much much faster. Those little printers are great for occasional use or printing the odd photo for someone to take home or something like that. You wouldnt want to print 100's of photos on one. For one, you would have to return to it every now and again to add more paper. 2. The paper/ink packs work out around 17-25p per print. 3. they take 30secs-100secs per print depending on the unit.
If this is a one off job your much better getting them done for you. less than 10p a print in some places, and if you do tons jessops might give you further discount

You friend is correct... you may find a cheap, good quality printer but the ink cartridges (especially) and the gloss paper are expensive.

Depends on your connection speed and file sizes. If we have a lot to upload I normally set them going and go to bed.

I've just done it!
I used photobox 250 photos or more were 5p each!
The quality is superb and of course you get online albums that you can share or keep private.
True it takes a while to upload, but as hutters has said, let them upload overnight....
Otherwise they do a mail order service click here and scroll near to the bottom for "Mail-order / Services by Post"

No..put them on a disc and post them to Photobox ( see shoehorns link)
For the cost of a first class stamp you save on quite a bit money, you get superb quality, an online album without the slow upload speed
I dont think turnaround time plus "snailmail time" is more than jessops too.

I concur

Ahoy there!

I use:

Photobox.co.uk , Shutterfly.com (US based) and BonusPrint.co.uk .

All have provided me with excellent service and exceptional print quality.

I can only suggest (as with either Shutterfly or PhotoBox) you sign up and get yourself some free print credits to start off with (then search online for discount offer codes).

Ensure the photo's you want to have printed have been PP'd etc and then go for it.

The cost of postage is minimal and the results far outway anything you'll get in any of the fast processing centres in your local supermarket. Photobox is doing a 2 for 1 deal on hardback photo albums which I have heard are exceptional quality. I'll be ordering one of these for myself soon to display my own 'work' and favourite other images I've taken.

Go for it . . what's to lose?
