when shooting sunsets....

make the decision to go out shooting atleast an hour before sunset, giving yourself plenty of time to pack your stuff, drive down there, get out of your car and find a spot, setup your tripod and take some shots

dont...
make the decision to go shooting 10minutes before sunset, grab your camera and tripod, finish brew, drive like a madman down country lanes to the beach, jump out of your car, and start shooting............ for 1 minute before the sun disappears, and your trip is wasted!

tomorrow i shall set off earlier and get something im proud off! there were 3 other people shooting at the same point on the same beach when i got there!

jamie

best attempt in the 1 minute i had...
badly framed, not as rich and exciting as id have liked, boring foreground subject

I was looking at the sunset tonight whilst driving to work down the A6, it looked beautiful, did you shoot in RAW?

where did you meter from? looks like it metered for the sun causing the foreground to be dark.

You're lucky to have somewhere nearby with a view like that.

no the most spectacular sunset in the world, infact not spectacular at all, too much cloud cover over scotland and a bit of haze

so i fecked around on the beach for about an hour, got sand everywhere and got quite cold

and took a few pictures

Thanks for the advice mate, this one was zoomed in a tad bit further

Uses PSE4 again just to resize the image, the lens flare was captured when I took the shot.

Took this about a month back I saw that the sky was turning quite golden, and I was going up to my old golf course just one last time before it shut up shop for good, and caught some marvelous (well i think so) sunset shots this is one of them.

I hope it`s ok for anyone to post a sunset

I took this one from the Holiday Inn at Disney Paris in May. Just after a storm.
