Any Compact camera with RAW?

I'm looking for a new digicam. There I was, all set for the fuji s9500 when I heard a voice behind me. "You're not buying a camera that big are you?" After some discussion, 'I' have decided to look down the compact route. Cost is not a real concern but image quality is. I would really like to capture RAW files. Anyone recommend something?

Well, the S5600 (S5200 elsewhere) is smaller and cheaper, and supports RAW.

We use a G6 at work and that records RAW . Maybe the other Powershot ones do as well.

Yes they do but support for their RAW with Photoshop ( and Elements) is not universal. This is not really a problem as RawShooters Essentials 2006 is freely available ( for now

)
The Powershot Pro one is particularly well featured but Im not sure I'd call it a "compact" with its 28-200mm L lens! but PQ is not in doubt

Canon Powershot S80 would be good, else the S70 can also still be had if you shop around you may get it at a good price.

I think the Fuji FinePix E900 offers RAW processing.

When you later decide to get RAW, bear in mind it adds one more step to post processing on the computer but potentially helps you get the best possible recorded image from your camera.

Im not sure of the compacts but on the Canon 350D you can get RAW and Jpeg: If you feel the jpeg is fab you can simply forget the RAW

My decision was eventually based on the size and age of the camera. The s80 canon doesn't have RAW, the s70 canon does but the camer is over two years old. The camera will be used indoors alot and everything I've read suggests the 750 performs well in low light. I'll have it soon so we'll see.
