advice please

i have a panasonic fz5 that i just cannot get on with, so that is going to be sold. now, what do i replace it with?
my budget is up to £300 approx and i need the following things from it;
i need a 10x optical zoom min, i do a lot of outside beach shots etc.
it needs to be sd format, i don't really want to replace all of that
i mainly take pictures of my children, in the garden etc, but a lot of indoor shots during the evening, so it has to be good for that. and generally one thats good for children, can cope with fact that pictures are taken during movement.
i was considering the kodak p850
and the canon s2is but i'm not sure
any advice would be much appreciated

If you can stretch your budget a bit further (for lenses) a Nikon d50 may be an option

Just a thought

A couple of newbies to consider, due soon:

Canon S3IS

Kodak Easyshare Z612
