Where is best / cheapest place to buy Panasonic FZ5 ?

I am after a Panasonic FZ5, the cheapest I can see online is around £240 delivered. I dont want to get it from that french company, had bad experience with them last year. I didnt realise they were french until I had the issues..

Anyway, if anyone knows of any offers, please let me know, I`m poised with credit card, but can afford to wait a few weeks if necessary.

I know a few of your managed to snag one at £199, being a tight git, I`m hoping to get somewhere near that. If I cant, I`ll just get one for £240.

I have no problems buying off the net, but dont want to buy from abroad, got stung with vat for a few things off ebay recently. So the Hong Kong sellers are not suitable for me.

I posted this question in a thread about the FZ7, thought it best to have it in the main forum, hope I didnt break any rules doing so.

I was after this camera too, just been to look at it

Comet have it for £249 in Silver, Jessops have it for £348. I asked for a price match which Jessops said they couldn't do.

Best price Jessops could give me was £285.

Err would you believe I checked the price just before I made that post and now they don't have it

And from a quick look around it looks like it's going out of stock everywhere rapidly, if you can get it for £240 I'd get it now as it's a great camera

The FZ5 has officially been discontinued so I would buy ASAP.

The FZ7 will be available in Spring apparently.

OK, as this is now discontinued and going out of stock everywher, this is the best deal I found

Comet UK

£229.99 delivered free on a slow delivery. Bestcameras are now out of stock and emailed me to say so. If you want one, at the moment, this is the best deal I could find.

Apparently Panasonics are rubbish according to the pearls of wisdom from a certain guy asking about £200 camera recomendations.

We must be all delusional then

Snap one up quick as they'll soon dissapear at this price level.

MJW, I'm off to New York next month and am after a good zoom camera (with image stability of course) , so can you recommend the Z5? What other options are there?

I have seen some of your photo's but I am assuming the blurred ones are because of you and not the camera.

Got my camera this morning. Impressed with the photos and zoom, found a slight difficulty in following fast moving objects.

I take a lot of photos of rugby / football, I had an Olympus 2500L, when I looked through the viewfinder and took a sequence of 5 shots, the screen only momentarily went black when the shutter opened, on the FZ5, it is black for much longer between shots, which makes tracking players who are running much harder.

I realise the zoom magnifies the problem, but I still need to get my head round it and try and find a method that works for me.

Overall, very impressed with the picture quality though.
