Panny FZ20..AT LAST !!!!

I'm finally a very happy bunny !!

Been after the FZ20 since missing out on the Jessops £199 sale and was almost giving up hope, especially after subsequently missing out on it again for £259 at Hughes Direct. Ebay prices are still going for approx £260, and most retalers won't do it for less than £300.

Was about to take a risk on an 'Open Box' offer from ebuyer for £190 + del

http://www.ebuyer.co.uk/customer/pro...uct_uid=101655

and just happen to stumble across John Lewis doing it for £199 inc delivery. So I've just bought the last one. YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

All things come to he who waits/dithers/misses out

Hope you enjoy Kurgen - Wasn't much in it between the 20 & the 5 for me so opted for the 5 because of it's size and quicker focusing / flash pics. Manual focus is a big +ve 4 20 though.

Great camera though at a great price.

The John Lewis website is showing the FZ20 out of stock.
This morning I phoned my local store who were also out of stock but told me that the Watford Store had 4 and the Glasgow store had 2.
I managed to get one from the Watford store for £199.95 and they are going to post it to me free of charge.
So if you really want another chance you may be lucky if you give them a ring.
Watford Store 01923 244266 and Glasgow Store 0141 353 6677
Good luck

Nice one Beachy..I hope someone takes you up on your very honourable offer

. I ordered mine on Friday and it arrived first thing this morning (Monday). So dead impressed with that for a start. Secondly, I've just taken the camera out of the box and I have to say it is a very very classy looking camera. What an absolute steal at £199 ! Can't wait to get started.

Seeing as though I can't get to play with the camera until the weekend can anyone recommend a case for the FZ20? I've seen a choice of three so far.

http://www.ukdigital.co.uk/accs/pana...sfz20_case.htm

and

http://www.purelygadgets.co.uk/prodi...islist=3~33~88

and a Panasonic Lumix case on ebay that supposedly fits the FZ5 or the FZ20 at a squeeze.

I was looking at this camera for a friend of mine and was just wondering if any of you know what sort of shutter lag there is on the camera. He is interested in using it for sports photography but doesn't want to spend anymore than £350. Can anyone help me?

The staff in the Walsall branch have been fairly flexible on prices in the past from my experience, wether that has changed in the last 12 months I have no idea though.

Half price case was bought on 16th Jan 2006, it actually cost £10.97 and the code on the receipt is ALOWEBC405005683

Might be worth ringing quoting the code, or maybe it was during their sale only

Another nice case is John Lewis's own make - £9.99

I ended up buying the TLZ10 from Jessops at full price.....hey I was desperate. I'd waited long enough. I'd been tracking a TLZ10 on eBay but got outbid at the last minute. I also ordered the Lumix soft case I mentioned, but ended up sending it back because I didn't like it. There were gaps between the lid and the sides and no carrying strap. So I was fed up of messing around and got the TLZ10 for £21.99. It's fine. The camera fits nicely, although you won't get any extra lenses in there I don't think, but there's room for an extra battery and cards at the front. It's a nice fitting well made case that'll enable me to get out and about with the camera now.

This one took my eye on ebay a few days after I bought my case (typical). Don't know what people think, but it looks big enough to accommodate lenses etc.

its set up inside with those dividers, but it seems mainly aimed at camcorder users, worth trying it out in jessops. For all of you, if you need jessops to stock check anything, just the last 7 numericals on that reciept code will do, or if you have the catalogue to hand, the little code under the price will do it too.
Used to have jokes on the phone with regulars "yeah gotta love those 7783210's beautiful!"
