viewing pictures on plasma

viewing pictures on plasma

I have just bought a Roku hd1500 and having networked it to my pc's all i can say is it was worth every penny just for the picture quality it gives on a hd plasma, I find detail in my olympus e20 pics that I didnt even realise was there !!

How can pics be displayed in HD ?

well think how many pixels a 5Mp camera has !!
a normal res screen doesnt display the all of the info, it has to scale it down

A 8 megapixel camera will give a picture of 3456 pixels by 2304, which is above HD res.

hence a hd screen will give a better picture than a non hd one and yet still not at native

jeez i must be behind the times, i use a 5 year old 17 inch monitor with a screen resolution greater than a HD tv will give, how crap is that.

well what can i say
my pc's have a 19 inch crt, a 19inch viewsonic tft and a 17 inch viewsonic tft
all of tham can run a resolution greater than my plasma, but the plasma still blows it into the weeds. 5 year old crt !! drag yourself into the 21st century

As long as you down sample, feed an HD TV especially the native 1920x1080 models a normal SDTV input and it looks very bad....

ok i give up
dont look at photos on a plasma they look cr**
get a beko 15"B&W crt they will look great
never touch hd it will not catch on because all formats look duff
420 line was the way to go, you fools going down that blind allyway of 625 line !!

viewing pictures on plasma / Roku hd1500

do you mean vga socket or vga res ?
my roku is outputing either 720p or 1080i both look great
ive never conected my pc direct to the plasma, however the roku is streaming all its media from the pc
