camera query...

I've got a canon powershot g5 which I'm happy with tho for some reason some shots still come out a bit blurry....now I'm interested in getting one with anti-shake technology...

I've just seen the Minolta Dimage z3 for 140 quid, tho it;s only 4 mega pixel - how does it compare to my camera..?

cheers

are there any other in the same price range..? - crtitrea are - good optical zoom, anti shake technology and adjustable shutter speed etc...

cheers

That's a good camera....are they blurry because of a technical fault or do you have particularly shakey hands?

shaky hands I guess...tho I do have a tripod (little flexible one) attached to it, but it seems that about 50% are blurry in one for or another...

OK. My father has one and I was impressed with the results. Unless you are doing very low light stuf, just get the shutter speed up as high as you can.....no shakey blur that way.
No need to buy a new camera with image stabilizer....

exactly what i was thinking, my views on antishake systems are thus...

if your subject is stationary and its blurry its cuz of your hands shaking, use a faster shutter speed or use a tripod
if your subject is moving then you need to use a quicker shutter speed, antishake wont help as the image will be blurred from the movement of the subject, not the movement of the camera.

is it blurred or out of focus, i.e is the camera locking onto the correct part of the image, or is it locking onto an object in the image thats forward or rear of the depth of feild and as such giving you out of focus pictures

A good tip when uising a tripod is to use the self timer if your camera doesn't have a remote control. Set up the camera and then use the 10 second self timer and then you won't cause any shake when pressing the shutter release.
