Shot accepted by Airliners.net

After 2 rejections, Airliners.net have accepted my shot of a Sikorsky S-61 of the Royal Dutch Air Force in flight.

Boy - those screeners are tough! The first was rejected because they didn't like the filename. It was something like IMG_941.jpg as that was the name out of the camera. I changed it to dkwadn987.jpg - and it was rejected again as the aspect ratio was incorrect. This was due to my cropping of the image. After careful reading of accepted aspect ratios and cropping it as specified, I re-submitted it. This time it was accepted

Cheers mate!

Oops - should of said my my fist post. In all the excitement, I forgot!

Canon 350D with EF 70-200mm L USM

I must admit - the "L" lens makes all the difference. You really notice the difference in quality of glass.

Hey.....congratulations on your first...over 200 hits already too

Its a real buzz to get one on eh? So I have some competition now in the aviation section..

If you think the first was tough...just wait until you upload some more..
Be prepared to get annoyed/angry/gutted/frustrated etc etc.

But you WILL get more on, and the stuff you learn from rejects can be applied to improve your skills in other subjects.
When I had my first 'ground' shot rejected for 'angle', I rotated and got it in.....but then looked at my holiday pictures from 2003....oh dear oh dear.

I seem to have a tendancy to tilt the camera left or CCW, but now I know, its easy to correct when framing a shot.

Do you have more to submit? The first 100 seems impossible, but in just 16 months, my stats.....

You currently have 685 photos in our database. The large version of all your photos have been viewed a total of 279560 distinct times. On average, a photo of yours has been viewed 408 times.

'DOUBLE. You already have photos of this aircraft in the Airliners.Net database that are the same as or very similar to these photo(s).'

This one was considered too similar.....
