Panasonic FZ5 extra batteries & accesories

Just got a Panny FZ5 and was going to get an extra battery jessops wanted £29 + £29 for the car charger.

I just looked on e-bay and somone from Hong Kong is selling 2 batteries (same code number and rating as pannys) + a car charger for £12.89 + £7.50 shipping.

Also may consider Tele converter and wide angle lenses also available on e-bay.

Does anyone have any experience with 3rd party batteries and lenses for any of the panasonic range of cameras off e-bay?

I have ebay hong kong batteries and a charger for my Canon. Charger is fine and batteries outlast the Canon original.

I have got the 2 batteries and car charger from ebay - seem fine, and quick shipping.

HOWEVER, avoid the add on lens from what I have read. Loads of bad reviews - they may fit, but that is about all they do!

I got an Oly a200 1.5x tele lens for my FZ5, plus a Raynox DCR720 wide angle - not bad, but lots of other options available.

Thanks father, will order some batteries and look around more at lens options.

How much were the lenses you bought and from where?

the a200 was an ebay job (£50), as no longer made.

The raynox dcr720 was a cheapy from Jessops (£30), but does a reasonable job - some barrel distortion, and a tiny bit of vignetting, but not too bad.

Two good sites for camera stuff are stevesforums

and dpreview

links are to a couple of threads on add on lens. Lots more around!
