Red face question about digital photography - your help is needed!

dear forum-readers,
I'm using my photoshop for editing my pictures.
the only thing is: when I use them on Ebay, they seem more compressed then before. can somebody explain that?

check this for example:
a random Ebay-listing

thanks in advance!

the images are compressed by ebay to make them small enough in file size to use, in photoshop try 'save for web' after resizing the image down to 500x in size....

weird sense of humour

Compression

Yes, Ebay (a rather slow loading annoying site) optimises pictures so the pages load faster.
You can optimise for web in PhotoChop (Edit Menu). For most web apps you want around 30-50kb , 72 dpi file sizes.
If you can find out the sizes ebay work to, optimise yourself to those sizes, set a small file size. PS will do a better job
Dont set 300 dpi on your pics, thats print res only

Alternatively you could host the images yourself.
