Currys order rejected

Currys have rejected my order for the bargain Canon 350D, supposedly because my credit card was rejected. As there is nothing wrong with my credit card, I am wondering if Currys are just trying to renegade on their offer. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Why not get one from your local Jessops store for the same price?

Alternatively, get it from the Jessops website? If I remember correctly, it's the same price both in-store and online shop from Jessops.

Did you ask Currys to phone the bank? Credit card hiccups at the POS are quite common.

The money has been debited from my visa card even though I asked them to cancel the order 'cos I went for the D70 instead

I doubt Jessops would match £625 for the EOS350D lens kit, a 1GB card and a Lowepro bag.

On the basis that the offer is no longer valid and the camera is out of stock at Currys I doubt they will.

I tried the EOS350D at my local camera store. I have large hands and it just wasn't a good fit. Build quality, although better than the 300D, is still nowhere near as good as the D70. That, combined with the deal I got at Jessops on the D70, clinched it.

I've only really ever considered the Canon as I know more about the Canon lenses - can't say I know what any of the Nikon lenses are like?

How many MPix is the Nikon?

6.1MP - but the 18-70 DX lens in the DX kit is far better than the Canon 18-55 non-USM model.

I had a 300D and didn't get on with it, tried a 350D last week and it was too small. The D70 felt "right" as soon as I picked it up.

Both great cameras though.

Poster over at the DVD Forums reports delivery of his 350D, plus 1GB card, plus bag for £625.

That's a great price (although I still would have bought the D70 myself).

The 350D feels much better in your hands with the BG-E3 battery grip attached. I'm I right in thinking there isn't a grip for the D70?

Not a Nikon one no, but there is one available from a 3rd-party.

To be honest the D70 feels just right without a grip.
