Nikon Coolpix 8700 price point

I am helping my Dad out as he is interested in buying one of these and I have been astounded by the price differences showing on Kelkoo - anything from about £390 to £800 (with lots in between).

Can anyone tell me why this is? Is there a new model out or something? Grey imports?

Can any 8700 owners out there recommend a place to buy?
