I can't seem to find a thread for older cameras but I really need a question answer asap. I'd appreciate any help possible or point my in the direction for a quick answer.

I have a Contax T2 but know nothing about cameras and was planning on selling however I noticed that when the back is open, their is a small grey circle object in middle (In-line with the lens). The one I have appears cracked but complete, please can some identify this part and explain how would it affect the camera?
