help re Sony p9

have had this camera for over a year. Generally happy with outdoor pictures, but indoor shots very poor. Finding lots of shots very red, and blurred. Am I doing something wrong, or poor flash, or just fact of life with digital cameras?? Can I improve picture quality. Thanks for any advice
