New Models of TZ7 or SX200IS

Hi
I,like many others it seems,am torn between the TZ7 and the SX200is.
For me they both have very good points but crucially a couple of niggly bad points.
I was just curious to know if somebody out there, who is a little more familiar with photography than me, knows wether either Panasonic,Canon (or anybody else for that matter)is likely to bring out new models in the near future that it might be worth hanging on for.
Am I right in thinking that new models are generally bought out early in the new year.
Any help would be gratefully received.

If you wait , you'll get the newer cameras, you'll also pay the newer prices.
According to this site....
Camera Price Buster - UKs cheapest camera gear
The price of a TZ7 and SX200i when they first came out was well over £300,
TZ7 now at £235, and SX200i is about the £220 mark and you can claim £40 Canon cashback off that

Ive gone tz7 route

Ive been torn between the two but ive orderd the panny tz7 from dixons £227thing that done it for me was the hd avcd recording ease plus ability to zoom in whilst recording also the dual microphones plus the panny is a tad smaller. The canon`s pop up flash would do my head in also the unavailability to zoom whilst recording video fair do`s the canon has a higher spec mega pixel count but im happy with my prints off my 5 mega camera i own now
