I have a 50D and have found that you need good glass for it to give you optimum results. Hope this makes sense.

I agree about the good glass bit but infact any body at all will shine with better glass , some more than others..

there is one for sale and I think it would be a good up grade from my 20d. I was just interested to know what people thought about them and if any pit falls.

What do you find lacking in the 20D?

I really dont think you need to worry about any issues with the 50D unless you shoot at ISO 6400 and pixel peep ( noise)
It is a seriously well sorted Camera which was compared with the 40D ( for noise) at its launch.
This seemed to overshadow its real improvements over the 40D but It is a real upgrade from the 20D, a little less so from the 40D

In short, I dont know any 50D owners who would like to take it back to the shop

sorry for not getting back sooner I have been away.
I missed out on the 50D so will keep looking till one comes up at the right price.
I like the 20D just feel it is getting a bit dated now.
