Under £50 flash gun Sony A200?

I have had a look on ebay and have seen many that say they will work with the A200, but will they work fully.
For example
Flash Speedlight YN-460 F SONY A200 A300 A700 A900 A350 on eBay (end time 28-Oct-09 01:42:04 GMT)

TTL AF DIGITAL FLASH FOR SONY ALPHA A200 A300 A350 A700 on eBay (end time 22-Oct-09 23:42:46 BST)

Any flashgun designed for the Minolta SLR mount will work on the Sony dSLR, but it will not be dedicated and will not work in TTL mode and will likely only work at full power (with a few exceptions - see Dyxum).

To be safe, go here and look at the dedicated flashguns for the Sony system. For £50.00, I would give you command of my ship and a half share of the booty . . . but that aint gonna happen is it?

One of the giveaways is when they tell you to select M mode (manual). Non dedicated . . . forget it . . . move on.

Get out your plastic, cos it's going to cost you at least £157.00 via Amazon (unless you can source one from the USA and have it couriered back). Ideally, you want a tilt/rotate flash akin to the F42 unit (or better).

Check out AVF, Dyxum, TalkPhotography, DynaxDigital and ClubSnap for their used classifieds.

I just had a YN-460 delivered today and its great fun

People tend to use these for off camera flash with remote triggers (if you google strobist it will become clearer!)

How is Hove and the Labour Party (puke) conference? My birthplace was Brighton. As a kid I did visit Hove when there was a pool by the front (maybe that's all gone now).

Apart from that, I don't miss the pebble beaches . . . . Bournemouth is much more 'sand between the toes' . . . . and plenty of hot totty to shoot

Thanks Pirate, the second one I linked to says "FULL DEDICATION FOR SONY ALPHA" so does that mean it will work in other modes except manual?

TBH, I would be VERY sceptical. Go with the list on Dyxum. Otherwise don't be disappointed if it aint what you paid for. It's very easy to say yes it works on model X, but to find that it doesn't.

Personally, I would walk away.

The best part about brighton beach is although you might not be able to build a sand castle you can build a real castle!

The pool is still there (well if you mean the lagoon)

Bournemouth is cool, Saturday nights are certainly lively, I'd never seen so many police on horseback it was like the charge of the light brigade
