Canon Zoom Browser EX - Irritant

I normally use Canon's RAW Image Task to do some very basic editing on RAW files before importing them into Photoshop as TIF files. You can only launch this through Zoom Browser.

So, the problem. I can select a photo (or several) and launch RAW Image Task fine, do what I need to do, etc. Once I've finished and close down the RAW Image Task window, select more files (say from a different directory), RAW Image Task will not launch unless I restart my computer.

Is this a known problem that I have to live with, or is there a known workaround? I've just been re-processing a lot of old RAW shots (well, trying to) recently, hence why I've just found the problem.

If this problem is so three years ago, I apologise. Some help would be much appreciated though.

Im not sure why this is happening but using DPP is a far better option

In a sense Raw image task is a DPP plug-in into Zoom browser.

It has more functions and really should not cause you the agrro you are getting from RIT
I use DPP a lot less now that I have LR but it is very capable and simple to use

To look at it from a different perspective may I ask - if you have Photoshop - why you're using the frankly inferior Canon RAW processor when you can use Adobe Camera RAW?

Is Canons RAW processor really inferior?
I agree the RIT plug in within Zoombrowser wont win any awards but surely the Full DPP on which it is based may be feature lean but I wouldn't describe it as inferior in speed and image quality results if you can live without many more sliders.

Re: Canon Zoom Browser EX - Irritant

No, it shouldn't degrade the image (I can't vouch for that - I haven't looked at equivalent conversions in any detail) but it is not as powerful, PLUS ACR blends seamlessly with Photoshop and Bridge. If pumbaa's problem is coming from the Canon software, there is a better alternative sat on the system waiting to be used.

Canons software is fantastic for freeware, but to give an analogy it seems odd to me to be driving a clapped out B reg mondeo when there's a caterham sat on the driveway

It might be the case that the OP has an older version of Photoshop where Adobe Camera RAW doesn't support the camera. For example, I have a 350D and Photoshop CS, so I have no option but to use Canon's software for RAW processing.
