Arrow EBAY + ARGOS = Sony

Ok so I bought a Sony A200k on sunday from Ebay from reputible store. The store at hand is Argos and thay trade under a second name that name is Clearance Bargains this store is not just online.

But anyway on to the camera its sold as a Refurbished model this could mean a number of things.

They may have been previously sold, and subsequently returned to one of our parent stores and not put back on sale for cosmetic packaging reasons. This is often as little as a broken seal.

Alternatively, they may simply have incurred a minor amount of cosmetic packaging damage during handling in the day to day running of our business.

Some items may also have been returned to our parentstores with a reported fault or where a customer had difficulty in using.

Now the camera I got in my hand's right now is mint not 1 mark on the camera body or the lens. I would like to say the camera look's unused the only thing thatlooks out of place is the cables did not come in a bag thats about it. Now the box looks ok apart from the seal was removed.

The camera comes with a full ONE YEAR warranty witch cant be a bad thing can it.

Anyway wonted to post some photo's of the item and a clip so you can see what I see when I opened the box.

out of the box

Next Ill add the video so you can see what was in the box and so on

I see they have cleared all the alphas now, including the refurbed A100s they had at a higher price than new A200s.

Re: EBAY + ARGOS = Sony

The A200 prices on eBay are insane. I've got one to sell and I reckon it'll go for more than I paid new from Jessops last December.

Don't send it back, sell it on eBay, you might make money even after charges.

Re: EBAY + ARGOS = Sony

I ordered one of these last night. They had 12 which sold in a matter of hours. What's the chances of this coming with the lens as well? The specifications suggest it will but it's still unclear what I'll be receiving.

Re: EBAY + ARGOS = Sony

Nothing listed in bundled kit or included accessories, so assume is body only.

No bad thing, now get out your plastic and get the lenses you need.

Agreed, but under the section "Lens Systems" it says the following:

Quote:
Lens Systems
Auto focus TTL phase detection
Lens type Zoom
Focal length 18-70 mm
Equivalent 35mm focal length 27-105 mm
Focus adjustment Automatic, Manual
Focus zones 9
Lens aperture F/3.5-5.6
Zoom adjustment Manual
Pot luck as to what I get I suppose, still a good price regardless of the lens though

Re: EBAY + ARGOS = Sony

I thought I'd give you all an update as it arrived today (ordered Wednesday night).

First of all the camera was in the original packaging which was a good sign. Upon opening the box, everything was in it's sealed packaging and looked unused.

I inspected the camera and that too has no signs of use. There was a finger print on the lcd and some dust but apart from that it's in absolutely immaculate condition.

So, was the lens included? Yes! It was Gives me something to start with so was certainly a benefit. Very happy considering the cost of 2nd hand A200's, bargain!

Re: EBAY + ARGOS = Sony

Check the EXIF data and see what the shutter count is, it may be an item that was returned after a bit of use.

What about Konica Minolta 7D or 5D?

Ahoy!

Some of you guys are still missing a trick in the form of the Minolta 5D and 7D. I can't find any UK 7D's on the Bay, but there are 3 good deals for the 5D. See items: 330362793835 (sold), 270463930983 (sold) and 250508155900

Plenty of reviews on these models, but look at what you can get for circa £175.00. Now that's how to get bang for buck on a limited budget don't you think? They also make for a decent backup body.

Crikey, that last one you reference there Pirate comes with 3 lenses.....don't know anything about them mind, but three lenses......added to my 'Watch' list on ebay, as I've sold my Canon 400D on ebay, and got 8 people watching my Sigma 17-70 lens as well, so that's going to sell. In a few days time I'm going to have some money to spend on a camera I'm scouring ebay for an Alpha 200, with kit lens, in good nick for [hopefully] around £200.

You have to be wary of first black frame issues with the 5D and 7D, although the fix is still free of charge I think.

Ffordes has an A350 with kit lens here for £319

I believe you are correct as the info for the 5D is still showing @ firmware v1.0 and 1.10 for the 7D though it appears that mysterious first black frame issue was never corrected by it for either model! Blurb about it here.

Still a cheap option though
