Nice simple layout and design

Only thing I would change is there is a LOT of scrolling on the home page as you have it set so the entire content of each post is visible. Mabye worth having it so just the first couple of paragraphs and one image is visible with a link to the rest of the post?

Then it's up to you to make that first paragraph and image capture the attention of the viewer

Look at it this way, if you think a visitor might not want to bother to view the whole post then forcing them to do so could just make them leave, especially if it's something they don't want to read about and have to scroll for ages to get past it.

IMO it's always best to give visitors a choice and not 'force' them to see something they don't want too.

Thats just me though

You may want to find some sort of gallery to display the photos, then there would be alot less scrolling and it would be a more pleasing way to view the images.
For example here I have used a simple jQuery script for this gallery Dogs
