Which macro lens (sony)...noob on a budget.

Looking for a budget price macro lens for my Sony A200 ( if there is such a lens! )

Id like to take shots of insects flowers etc and get really close.

Budget is probably around the 100 quid mark, and second hand doesnt bother me.

What sort of things, specs should i be looking for.

Sorry but im a bit of a noob!

Any help would be great

For £100 you won't get much lens, so depending on what you have at the moment, maybe look into some extension tubes? They're hollow tubes that just move the lens further away from the camera body, but you can get some really impressive macro stuff on the cheap. The more expensive ones (around £90) have contacts in them as well, so you can still autofocus and control the lens aperture.

As long as you have a lens at around 50mm (usually a kit lens will do), just put the tubes onto the body, connect the lens to the tubes, and have a play!

A Nikon man so not really my field but for that budget not a true macro but might be worth looking into the sigma & tamron 70-300mm lenses that have a macro facility.
