Tamron SP AF 60mm f/2 Di II LD 1:1 Macro

I've done some searches, and this seems to be released, but reviews are very sparse. Anyone seen/heard/tried one of these?

Main advantages seem to be a combo-portrait macro lens(e), but giving a longer working distance than typical of 100mm (the Tamron 90 macro has 110mm).

A few semi-reviews/thoughts at these links plus a chinese-translated review:

No. It seems too shorter distance to me @ 60mm (you'll spook bugs and stuff if using in macro mode). I have the f/2.8 90mm Di version (as do many others) and is a cracking lens, though maybe wait and see what reviews come out.

I do like the look of the internal focusing on this new model though, does protrude a bit the old 90mm 2.8 at times I find although can't fault the PQ

Well thats the thing the working distance (most sticky-out bit of plastic to target) of the f2.8 90mm seems to be 110mm, this new 60mm macro ist stated as having a longer than typical working distance (the lens isnt recessed for starters) and has a 100mm working distance from front edge of casing to spookable bugs at 1:1. And as a 60mm + crop factor is a bit less telephoto and much more in the normal portrait range.

I was kinda hoping a Canon-user here may have got one, as apart from the links above, info seems real sparse right now. Sony/Minolta fit is meant to be due "August/September"...

Final Analysis

Overall, I was very impressed-although the problems I encountered with manual focusing did put a crimp in my unbridled enthusiasm. In particular, I liked the way this 60mm Tamron macro softly blurred out backgrounds, while keeping the subject (plane) tack sharp. I have to add that I was really blown away by the lens’s overall optical performance.
A bit light on graphs and so on, probably have to wait for those insane german guys to give it a go, but encouraging.
