Ixus 100 or Lumix FX40?

Hi,

I'm about to buy either of the two mentioned cameras.

The Canon IXUS 100 IS

or

The Panasonic Lumix FX40

They are pretty much identical specification except the Lumix FX40 has a wide angle lens and a 5x zoom (3x on the Canon).

The canon produces slightly better pictures according to reviews and is a more attractive design.

Does anyone have any experience with these cameras and which would you recommend?

Also if you have a burning desire to recommend any other sub-£200 cameras then this would be appreciated.

At the moment I think I'm just going to flip a coin!

Cheers

Martin

Re: Ixus 100 or Lumix FX40?

I have the Ixus 100is and i think its a cracking little camera, taken some really stunning point and shoot pics and the video quality is very good.

Only gripe is i have it in black, when its in my pocket with keys or coins the black paint seems to chip easily, maybe silver is more durable.

Can't comment on the Lumix as i'm a cannon man, lol

Hello,

I can't seperate these either. Did you make a decision?

Thanks,
Stephen

Yeah, I got the Fujifilm Finepix F200EXR.

Has a wide angle lens, 5x zoom, 3" screen. It's been great so far.

Does the Canon have a viewfinder? Panny doesnt - taking pics using the screen in sunshine is nigh on impossible
