Sony A200 Memory Cards

Hi All,

I'm totally new to DSLRs and I have just bought a Sony A200 and love it.

I have some old compact flash cards 512mb 80x ones that I got for an old Nikon Coolpix, which seem to work fine but want to get a bigger card. I wondered what people recommended for the best value card.

I've seen this one on amazon, Kingston 8GB 133x for 12.95 :

Do people think this is a good buy for this camera?

Amazon.co.uk: Used and New: Kingston Elite Pro - Flash memory card - 8 GB - 133x - CompactFlash Card

Re: Sony A200 Memory Cards

Its not a bad price at all, but I'd be tempted to spend a few quid more on something like a Sandisk. The only memory card I've had fail was a Kingston CF card.

Something like :

Re: Sony A200 Memory Cards

I have both Sandisk and Kingston CF cards that I use in my A350, the Sandisk's are 8 gig Extreme III's and the Kingston is a 16 Gig x 133 they work just fine, one of my mates who has the A200 uses Kingston 8 & 16 gig 133 cards.

I also got mine from 7dayshop.com - Online Store

Re: Sony A200 Memory Cards

How about HAMA ? Have they got a good reputation?

I've seen this HAMA 200x CF 8Gb card for 20.99...

Compact Flash Cards, Compact Flash, SanDisk Extreme V, VI, III and Lexar 300X UDMA – MyMemory

I haven't found any feedback for these cards.

That'll be a rebadged Sandisk, Kingston, or whatever - I don't think Hama make CF cards themselves.
