Photographers of the year 2008/2009

Hello there

Just got back from the camera club meet tonight. Last one of the season, they announced the Photographers of the year. Could believe it when they said I had won it.

In this years competition I had 1 winner and 2 seconds, but thought I may off blown it as I missed the last one.
So am a happy chappie at the moment.

Cheers Holo

Re: Photographers of the year 2008/2009

To be honest with you all I still feel I have a long way to go.

Just want to reply to a few who have help me along the way.

Thanks Gordon, I must admit to really enjoying your flash work although I haven't a clue how you have done it. Also have really enjoyed you company in the past, and has been very interesting watching you work. Must meet again

Cheers Andy, you have also come a long way since I first meet you taking pictures off blue bells in Surrey. Love the sports stuff especially the polo, one image that sticks out for me is the Scottish shot putter. Must do it again.

Thanks Liquid, have love watching you little ones grow up through the lens of your camera. I know you are not really into the swans and duck which I totally understand, as for portraits hopefully in the future I will have some time to do some more, have some idea,s that I want to work on.

Terry it was great meeting up with you a couple of weeks ago, and thanks for everything you are a star.

As for what's next, well have entered the British Wildlife competition I spoke about. Want to do more wildlife, and become better at it. Also want to do more what I call ordinary people shots. Am also saving for better equipment.

I must say again thanks all for the great comments, not just here but in all the posts, and cheers for all the advice in the past. Hopefully I can start to pass some on.

Cheers Holo
