What SDHC Card ?

Hello,

Been a while since I got a new digital camera.

Looking at a canon SX200 (as it's £70 cheaper than a Pana TZ7....)

What memory should I use with this ? Would be a mixture of piccies and short bursts of video ?

I'm guessing an 8GB SDHC card, but what make / class / where from ?

Camera shop recommended their Hama 8gb - but it was £30 - seemed a bit steep ?

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Re: What SDHC Card ?

Ive just bought a Canon Sx200 camera, and I think its great, I use it when I dont want to lug my 50D around. It has great focus, Image stability, low ISO noise, fully manual, good Auto mode as well.

I have got a Sandisk Ultra II 8Gb SDHC card, last week from Argos for £19. I would of bought one online if I could wait for it to be delivered. Holds over 2000 pictures on the highest quality or an hour of high def video.

In relation to the memory cards Amazon are doing a 8Gb Sandisk SDHC card for £9.99 or a Ultra II version for £13.50, far cheaper than £30 and you cant go wrong with Sandisk.

Re: What SDHC Card ?

Thanks Brian - I'm getting the camera from Amazon (£240, with an extra £40 back from Canon - bargain !), so will add a couple of those in to the basket.

Thanks for your help - glad you like the camera. Pana was slightly nicer IMHO, but not worth an extra £75.

Re: What SDHC Card ?

having looked up the specs it records at 320 x 240 pixels at 30 frames/sec, and a 512MB SD card will take 14.3 minutes of footage. So an 8GB card will take 16 x 14.3 minutes. So that's about 3 hours 50 minutes
