Sony DT16-80mm

I was wandering if i could have some help please.

I recently ordered a Sony DSLRA700 and Sony SAL1680Z Zoom Lens (4-120mm) online. The order arrived today but the lens that i ordered was replaced with the one in the thread title.

I have no knowledge about lenses at all so was wandering if the one they have sent me is a superior model to the one i originally ordered. Any advice would be really appreciated.

THe 16-80Z is the carl zeiss one. If the one you received has a blue square saying Zeiss on it you got the correct one. As far as im aware there are no other sonys that are 16-80mm anyway.

Cheers, yes it does have the zeiss logo on the box. I ordered it off amazon and the original one i ordered also had a zeiss logo on the lens. So potentially Amazon have got the same lens on there website but under two different names?

ha, cheers. It's not for me it's a birthday present for my dad, that's why i don't have a clue. Think it is the right lens after all, cheers Granty.

Yeah looks right, the second listing is what some person has put on it seems as amazon doesnt officially sell it.
