Advice about selling on forum

Hi,

Is it breaking any forum rules in posting a link in the for sale section to some camera gear I am selling on ebay?

Craig

Re: Advice about selling on forum

I think it would be to put a post up in there, not sure if you can mention it here though.

Re: Advice about selling on forum

If I remember correctly if you advertise it on here (for sale section) then you are not allowed to offer it elsewhere.

Yup, states in the rules that you cannot have item(s) on sale elsewhere at the same time. So, yes, you would be breaking the rules and whatever the guys responses above mine say.

See Rule 3

Classifieds Trading Rules

Personally, I find them draconian, but hey ho.

And you're not even allowed to tell someone who wants one that you have something to sell on another forum.

This by the way is my final post here!

I'm sure there is a lot of legal issues with selling on a forum, a forum in Germany has had it's classified's side of things closed down while processings go on behind backdoors with lawyers..

Rules have to cover every loop hole..

I'm sure they do, but there's a difference between loopholes and stipulations. Nuff said. Moving on.

I imagine that this rule is very simple, as having the same item on sale in two different places at the same time can open up the possibility that an offer is made in each place at the same time before the seller has had the opportunity to accept one and withdraw the item from sale in the other place.
