New DSLR

I have a Sony Alpha 100, which i bought when they came out. I have never had a problem with them till know? Lenses? Shops in my area dont sell them but can get them but cost £££. Went into two shops to buy a 2x teleconverter for it, got one used it talking it back monday the pics are rubbish ok there closer done what i wanted but just not the same as a bigger lense
.

One guy said i should maybe look at a diffrent camera, Nikon or canon. The range off lenses are better an cheaper than the sony

Which one should i look at? whats is the diffrence if anypicked up a few mags today DIGITAL CAMERA BUYER and DIGITAL SLR PHOTOGRAPHY, have not read them yet.

Re: New DSLR

Every Minolta AF lens produced in the last twenty-odd years fits your Sony. You are simply looking in the wrong places

What sort of lens are you looking for? There are hundreds.

Re: New DSLR

The unavailability of Sony lenses doesn't hold true any more. Sony's range is ever expanding and they have most bases covered. Sigma/Tamron are also now producing all their lenses for the Sony mount.

Look here for the range of lenses that will fit the Sony range :-

A-Mount Lens Index - Dyxum forums

Also here to the see the list of DSLR Cameras with Minolta - Sony alpha mount fitting so any lens that fits any of these cameras will fit any other Sony :-

Hope this helps.

Re: New DSLR

Get yourself on ebay.

Literally hundreds of suitable lenses for absolute peanuts. As eddiewood says, almost any minolta fit one. On here Pirate is a good source for recommending good Sony lenses.
