Been asked to take some photos for a plumber - how much to charge?

I've been asked by a friend of a friend who is a plumber to take some photos for his website. I am planning to speak to the guy tonight but I don't know how much to charge. I imagine he will want photos showing him doing his work but I don't know how much to charge. I was thinking of saying £50 but will that be selling myself short do you think? I am not a pro so I would feel bad about charging him more. What do you think?

...then when you get there, spend 3 hours taking one picture, leave dirty footprints on his carpet, drink and eat him out of tea and biscuits, moan about the world of today and then say that due to the price of paper the prints are "gonna realy cost ya".

Don't forget to moan about the immigrants coming over here taking all our jobs and because of them have have to charge lower rates just to get work as they are undercutting everyone.

Those immigrants and their work ethic ... tsk

Nothing, you'll need a plumber one day. Just agree that he'll return the favour.

£100.00 cash up front. Make sure when you do the shoot you show some butt cleavage and spend all day doing nothing and charge a £50.00 post processing fee because you like the number.

There's nothing wrong with your boiler, but it needs changing anyway!

Re: Been asked to take some photos for a plumber - how much to charge?

Thanks for all your replies guys. Although there were some very funny replies I think I'll go for Rex's answer - an excellent idea. I do have a small plumbing job that needs doing and he can do that for me in return.

And don’t forget about the sharp intake of breath through clenched teeth before you tell him about the deal! Lol

Re: Been asked to take some photos for a plumber - how much to charge?

Charge him something, say £100+. How much is your time worth?
If you ask for the favour to be repaid there'll always be a dispute as to how much of a favour has been done/ worth. Make it a normal deal with no loose ends

Re: Been asked to take some photos for a plumber - how much to charge?

Being serious though, I've just started into the world of photography and I normally charge £30 for a few pictures. I know that's really cheap but I find I get a lot more interest by doing that and I probably make more than I would do charging £100-per-shoot.

I'd love to see your photos, I've got no-idea how you'd make plumbing look interesting!
