Editing Software

Hi Guys

I'm trying to decide between Lightroom2 and Nikon Capture NX2. I have a D80 which I've enjoyed shooting JPEGS with but would like to learn how to post process RAW images to take my photography to the next level.

What would you say were the pros and cons of each of the software, and are they both a one stop shop. I ask this because I see a lot of people say they start off with either and then finish off in say CS4?

Is there any good training material that you guys would suggest to accompany the software, DVDs books etc?

thanks in advance

Steve

If you want your NEF files to look how they should look, I'd say use NX2.
But probably to best all round package would be LR2.

Just search the interweb, there's cereals for both, which would allow you to trial both for longer than 30 days. So I'm told

For a book for NX2 I'd recommend "The Photographer's Guide To Capture NX2" by Jason O'Dell
The Photographer's Guide to Capture NX 2.0

Re: Editing Software

A vote for lightroom here, especially as you say you are looking for training materials, far more availability I would say for LR.
