Canon G9 external flash any good ones but cheap as i wouldn't need to use it.

Looks like i would be better of buying a flash for my G9 the thing is i dont need a expensive flash because im not going to be using it all the time,Also i didn't want to have to carry a big flash around...Am i going to be able to get what i want?

Try looking at the Canon 220EX, it is a nice little flash but it doesn't bounce which to me is a problem. Personally I would look at a used 430EX or something like that, a bit bigger and more expensive but you get much better results. I use the 580EX2 off my 1D3 on my G9 and it looks really stupid but the pictures don't look 'flashed' at all.

Cheers yea i think it would be better to get one that bounces,The first one does look like what i was first asking,But to be on the safe side i think the 220EX is the one im going to try to find secon-hand.

Just to clarify, the 220EX is the small one which doesn't bounce. Therefore you will still be relying on a more powerful direct flash which does offer an advantage but direct flash will not give you an image as natural looking as one taken with a bounce flash like the 430EX etc.,

A 420EX would do the job too - and will be cheaper.
