Digital Camera with High Def Recording

Hi,

I'm looking to purchase a new digital camera, preferably something fairly small, but can record video in HD (either 720 or 1080). I see Sony and Samsung have released models that do this but are there any others on the market. I did try a quick google but Camcorders are getting thrown into the results as well.

Thanks in advance

Neil.

Re: Digital Camera with High Def Recording

The Canon SX1IS should fulfil your needs, it might be a bit large though...

Or the Panasonic Lumix Tz5 does 720p video capture. It's also a fantastic still camera for a compact

Re: Digital Camera with High Def Recording

I'm a big fan of Canon cameras, but this time around the only option - SX1IS is a little too big for what I'm looking for, the Panasonic looks good though

Re: Digital Camera with High Def Recording

Sanyo Xacti HD1000 is great, it's stills are on par with most compact cameras and does 1080i h264, or 720P or 480p, good battery life to... lots of extras with it, if your thinking about replacing your compact but want to shoot hd vidoe to then this is the one to go for
