I have a problem with the Sony Kit Lens

Hi All

I'm having a issue with my kit lens and the a200. I was using it three days ago and it was working fine. I turned it on today to use it and it will not work in auto focus mode. I tried to use it and I get ther message "no lens is attached and the shutter is locked". When I change it to manual focus it seems to work fine. when I adjust it to it's limit in manual it seems to click something that then promts it to auto focus slightly but if I click it back to Auto it doesn't work again.

Has anybody else had a similar issue and if so could you give me some info on it? I'm a bit worried as I'm away at the moment and will be until Feb by which time the years guarentee will have expired..

Please can anybody help with this... or will I need to get a new lens?

TIA
