need help with photo opportunities midlands area

hi all, my husband and i have both had new cameras for christmas and want to go and get some practise in despite the unfavourable weather. any suggestions on places to visit. we live in the midlands area but can travel an hour or so any way for a good day out. hope you can help, wendy

Hmm, the midlands is a large place. If you could be more specific I might be able to help you further.

Some of my local haunts are Sandwell Valley, Baggeridge Country Park and Himley Hall.

If you want to travel a bit further then the Wyre forest has deer and other wildlife, Forest of Dean and Yat Rock isn't too far and has some great scenery, same goes for the Cotswolds. Cannock Chase is another option.

Also Kinver Edge, Dudley Zoo and the West Mids Safari Park offer some nice photographs.

Any local National Trust property or park can provide some good photo opportunities at little expense.

Plus, if you want practice with your camera - try some bread and the local duck pond.

Hi - Malvern and it's surroundings is also worth a visit as are the many towns and villages in Worcestershire. Happy snapping
