Help needed with improving watermark

Hi,

I have been trying to make a nice looking watermark for my motorsport images.

I'm not too clued up with photoshop and am having trouble understanding it all.

this is the best that i could come up with, but it is not really ideal for all images as it is a bit large, and does not look right against a dark back ground.

Any help would be much appreciated

Hi Sleepy...been considering watermarking myself but not yet taken the plunge. My views are that the mark should be unobtrusive and not take the focus or eye away from the image.This is a skill in itself and I shall rely on other more competent persons on this forum to guide you (and me).

You can either put a watermark on your photos too either stop people ripping off your work or just identify that you took it.

If it's to stop the rip off's you'll need to position the watermark in the most awkward place/over the main subject to make it hard as possible to be removed.
If it's just an ident, just position it in a corner and fade it down.

People will always moan to you that the watermark is spoiling the image, but that person will only look at your image once.
But a person that's going to rip off work off, will be the one of the 100's or 1000's of people that will view your work and then just steal it with giving any feedback.

Personally I just use the Type Tool in Ps and use the Blending Options in the Layers Pallet.
For the shot above you could position a smaller faded watermark over the crash barriers at the same angle, just to be creative for example.

I would like the watermark in the corner just so people know it is by me, nothing too distractive.

I only upload small images so would be pretty useless for someone to nick for prints
