New Tripod Instructionnaire

Bought this tripod and head from Redsnapper. Had it delivered today. More levers and screws than two hands could handle! Anyone got an idea how to use it and get a camera on it too? A tutorial would be good.

Well to start with I'd remove the camera plate from the tripod and attach it to the camera.
Then to move the head position all you need to do is rotate the handle to slacken it, move the head to the desired position and re-tighten.

Adjusting the leg lengths should be the same principle.

Yikes, thats a good price, pity they are not doing it with the ball head but I really cannot refuse at that.
Am just about to leave for flight back to Spain but will order that when I get back.

First impressions are very good. Very solid/sturdy compared to my manfrotto. Now just to figure out how to remove the camera plate...

Ahoy!

The tripod and ballhead are excellent. Remove the plate from the head (unscrew locking screw and press silver release pin on side), turn over and you'll see a securing screw with a flip-up lever in the centre of the upturned plate. Screw this to your camera body. Then slide body/plate/lens onto the head and press the retaining button on the side of the ballhead and slide into central position. Once there, tighten the locking screw thread to secure plate to ballhead.

Then it's a matter of adjusting to suit yourself in terms of shooting you want to do (they are very senstive to adjustment). Make sure if you're on even ground to screw-out the tripod rubber feet, or if on soil, screw-in to reveal the tripod foot spikes.

It's an extremely sturdy and robust tripod and head. It won't take much to work it out (only a few adjusters), and the height is simply a twist on the rubber grips (there are two for each leg) for full height or intermediate.

I had the full set-up on mine over the weekend and it stood very firm.

EDIT: I see you went for pan/tilt head, in which case the above probably doesn't apply in your case. I went for this and this.

I've had one of these for a month or so now. Only really used it fully once but i do love it and its great value for money.
when i got mine (and this is my first tripod) i emailed them about the lack of instructions and this is what they sent back. Its all pretty easy to figure out but it was good of thme to reply so quickly.

"The parts in the ball head bag are for converting the thread size to fit different tripods. The QR plate on top of the head slides out when the silver button is depressed - it then screws to the bottom of your camera or lens mount ring.
The small knob adjusts the panning movement. The middle size knob needs to be adjusted for the movement 'damping' you prefer when adjusting your camera angle and the large knob is for locking / unlocking the position.
The tripod legs adjust in angle by pulling out the rectangular 'clips' at the top of the legs and moving the leg fully - it then ratchets into three positions on the way back.
If you need to lock the head in place there are three small grub screws under the plastic mounting disc that can be pinched up.
There is a short centre column in the inside pocket of the tripod bag. The parts on each end of the column just unscrew.
