got the D60 with the non-vr lens.. is that a very big issue?

Being a bit of in-a-hurry at the time of the buying 2 days ago...and also a bit uninformed too .. i bought the Nikon D60 kit with the 18-55 non-vr lens. This is my 1st dslr camera... and although i took some great pics i worry if i should go and pay extra cash to buy seperately the Nikkor 18-55 VR lens. Is this a good move or not?
P.S. note that i dont intend to buy bigger lences and that usually i have "steady " hand when i shoot ..

To be honest with you I've never had a lens below 70mm which has had VR and it's not bothered me. Probably was worth you at the time paying the extra to get VR as it is useful when your losing the light to be able to take steady pictures at low shutter speeds but not sure in your position I'd be to worried.

VR on the kit lens is most useful for low light indoor stuff, but only of static subjects. If you're into museums, churches, stately homes etc, it's extremely useful (as they also don't like tripods or flash), but otherwise it's of limited value.

You say you bought the kit, but that would mean you got the VR as they are bundled together?

No not really, so long as you dont hold your SLR like a comapct camera

You can buy 2 different kits, 1 with the stand 18-55mm and 1 with the vr version

Also I agree that its probably not worth buying the vr version and selling the standard lense as vr becomes more usefull on longer lenses for outdoor photography

Im not sure about the smaller lenses, but i wish my Tamron 70-300mm had VR/IS! Shame the first one with it is about twice the price
