Macro lens
I've got a Canon 350D and am looking to get a good value macro lens for it to take portrait and small wildlife/flower shots with, can anyone recommend one and where to get the best deal on one?

Re: Macro lens
The Sigma 70-300mm F/4-5.6 APO DG Macro is well rated as a good lens for the money around £150.

Re: Macro lens
I've got both, I'd recommend the Tamron 90mm because it's a proper 1:1 macro lens. The Sigma 70-300 APO is a nice cheap telephoto with surprisingly good macro performance, but the Tamron kicks it's arse.

Re: Macro lens
I know the Tamron is good, but then it is a hundred quid more than the Siggy.

Got a Sigma 70mm F2.8 macro for sale if you want it. Just pm me if you're interested. It's the last of my Canon gear to go and I'm really not looking for much for it.

Re: Macro lens
Ahoy!
Ditto the Tamron f/2.8 90mm Di. On a budget, the 'plastic' fantastic' Vivitar/Cosina/Phoenix 100mm f/3.5. Make sure you get the 1:1 adapter lens, though it rocks at standard 1:2 (much better DoF).
AF is noisier than R2 D2, but the optics are exceptional. EvilBay item: 200286698033
