You can sign up for a 7-day free trial account here & have access to all the tutorials (bar the exercise files). Just make sure you set aside plenty of time to view the videos!

By far the most useful thing I have used is the video CD tutorials that are included with Digital Photo magazine. Over a 12 month subscription you will learn a lot about Photoshop...

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions - most helpful indeed.
I particularly like Tracymae's Worth 1000....
Most tutorials I have looked at are more focused on learning / using photoshop. What I really like about Worth 1000 is that there are some cool images on there and the author takes through how they created them. So many times I see amazing images that make me think "how?" - the raspberry frog is such an example.
