"Managed to pick up the D90 again today"
Is it really that heavy? I was thinking of buying one too..
#2 is really weird looking but in a good way. It's like two different photos joined together in the middle.
Nice close up of the robin.

Wilmslow - ain't that where the East 17 boys come from?

Really like them all.
Saw a web like that out the back of my place this week but couldn't get an angle with a dark enough background to get a shot like yours.
The Quarry Bank Mill one is smart. Interesting take on it. I remember going there with school as a kid.
Robin one is a nice capture. Is that with the VR lens? Noticed it's a very slow shutter for 300mm. Cropped at all?
One thing, they all seem a bit bright on my screen, like they could take a bit more contrast. Don't know if anyone else is seeing them the same?

Nice shots, I see you are also enjoying your D90.
I agree with denno that they seem a bit bright and could do with some more contrast. Have you done much pp on these?
I find my D50 is more inclined to over expose than the D90, so I tend to under expose the D90 with the same settings.

Ballgirl - great stuff. Here's my thoughts:-
1) Lovely web shot but maybe you could have taken it from a different angle as the backgorund is a bit distracting (to me).
2) Wow - I reckon you've got a money making image there - congrats. Just one thing - if you can get rid of the drain pipe on the right it would improve the symmetry no end
3) Nice robin. Is it a wee bit soft though?
4) Brill - lovely colours and composition. Top stuff.
All in all, I love 'em.

I haven't done much photoshop at all on these. Just Auto tweaked in Camera Raw. Maybe I need to recalibrate the screen.

Just checked the ISO on the Robin shot and its 1000. Have to say I'm very happy with the ISO quality compared to my old D40.

Just realised I have the camera set at minimum shutter speed 1/30th of a second in with auto ISO settings Doh!
