Frosty Day

Pretty cold here today so I still managed to get some nice frosty pics around the garden this afternoon.

1.

2.

3.

4.

C&C welcome, but be gentle I'm still new to this. I must admit I really like #4 but am toying with the idea of cropping it a little, don't know.

All taken with D40 18-55mm kit lens, in RAW format and with a little adjusting in ViewNX.

Cheers

Joe

Re: Frosty Day

I think no.4 is good aswell, not sure if cropping would make it any better.

Re: Frosty Day

1 & 2 are the best in my opinion... i'd be tempted to tweak the levels on 2, slight brightness adjustment could make this shot zing out...

keep it up!

Re: Frosty Day

Thaks for the feedback diablo and netronelson,

I've tweaked the levels in PSE4 your right it looks better. I managed to mask just the frost to lighten it, the image didn't look right with changed levels to the whole picture.

2.1

Re: Frosty Day

yep, that's much better...

if your photos are linkable folks can have a play on your behalf, i've found it useful for things like cropping interesting angles that i'd not seen before too...

if you want to post a link to the photo, i'd be happy to have a play...

Re: Frosty Day

Like it...alot!

I'm still strictly an amateur PS'er but can I guess you've increased contrast in the background and lightened the highlights for the foreground???

If not, go on tell me...

I'm trying to get my head round layers too but still struggling with that one, I really should buy a tutorial book.
