help in finding suitable sdhc memory card for netbook

i'm not sure if this computer forum will get the best response or the camera forum, but i'll try here first

i'm getting a dell mini 9 which has a 8gig SSD and a memory stick reader, and i was looking at getting say a 16gig SDHC to use as storage space, and possibly to install XP/linux on and boot from it, although there seems to be bios issues preventing booting from it

i don't have a digital camera so i've never used any memory sticks apart from usb thumbdrives before, and i'm frankly a bit confused as to what type to get. reading a bit it seems that class 6 is the fastest, but there are loads of different speeds available. looking online the prices vary like crazy

i was looking to spend in the region of £20, so i'm wondering what the best value fastest possible model is, and also the best value bang for the buck if the very fastest are £40+ but something reasonably good is half the price.

suggestions of where to buy at the best prices (not ebay though) are also appreciated, and perhaps how to tell the speed of what you are buying as some sites just mention class 6. i'm not sure how much speed difference is withing a class (ie. if the more expensive can be 6x faster than the cheapest for example)

another idea would perhaps be to get a cheap 16gig model for storage and a smaller faster drive of say 8gig to use as a boot drive (ie if the fastest 8gig can be had for say £15, but the 16gig equivilent is £40 - i don't necessarily need much more than 8gig to boot from)

cheers!

Re: help in finding suitable sdhc memory card for netbook

after having no luck in the computer forum, i thought i'd try in the camera forum as i presume more people will be knowledgable about memory sticks in here. failing that i'll move back or give up
