Angry Cam Tech

Why can't camera manufacturers implement the technology where ISO is reset to default when a digital camera is turned of? It's hardly asking for that much, is it.. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they already have the know how to acheive this but are keeping it a closely guarded secret to validate yet another needless replacement, probably.

Isn't it annoying when you take pics with a high ISO that you forgot to reset!

Not half as annoying as when you forgot that you last used it in mirror lockup, and go for an action shot!

Re: Cam Tech

Once you've done it a few times you quickly get into the habit of either:

1) returning the camera to "stock" settings before turning off (in my case ISO 200 and f8) and/or...
2) checking as soon as you turn the camera on.

Re: Cam Tech

My favourite is not turning VR on. I get into the habit of turning it off when transporting, as I seem to recall that it locks mechanism down properly if you do that.

Re: Cam Tech

I'd be more annoyed if the camera didn't remember my ISO settings. Imagine shooting a wedding, changing lenses so turning the camera off and then having to set it all up again.

But what if your brain is like well mashed from the previous night and you've got a memory like a sieve.?

Just do what my ex did and change the lens without switching of the camera first!! (Does this void the warranty if you do this?)

Re: Cam Tech

This is one of the useful things of the 'preset settings' that are available on the newer cameras.

Turn the camera on, select the data bank and away to go!

Now you're dreaming, that won't happen for at least 100 years.
And call me Para.

I've never turned my camera off when changing lenses.....old habits die hard.

Still, 20k shots and she's still going strong.
