Angry Play.com /??Play Trade..click BUY with care

I ordered a Sandisk extreme 3 SD card with reader from Play.com. When it arrived I was suspicious that it was a counterfeit card. It did not come with the card reader & I was fobbed off with the email below. I then spent few hours testing file speeds against my old card, contacting Sandisk & having to photograph the card & email the photos to Sandisk. They have confirmed it is a counterfeit card. I contacted Play.com who said I had to contact the seller & go through the process of sending the card back. I am unhappy about doing this as I will not have any proof about the card being counterfeit once it has gone back. I was telling this to the operator who promptly put the phone down on me. Never again Play.com, NEVER AGAIN.
Any advice would be welcomed.

email.

Hi There seems to be some confusion we do not sell these with card reader and Play.com does not have picture for card on its own but the listing you bought from was for card only i am happy to take back and refund your sale in full and apologise for confusion at our end

It seems I went through one of there resellers.

I think you bought from play trade? play.com is ok but watch what you buy from play trade because they can sell you anything, a bit like buying from one of the traders on amazon. I have bought a few memory cards direct from play and have never had any problems but did read about someone who bought what they thought was a 4gb card and it was only 2gb that said 4gb on it, play told them to return the card and they sent out the right one.

That does surprise me in that the two cards I have bought from Play.com have been fine with all the usual extras (pouches etc).

I agree - Play.com have always offered me fantastic service and price. Personally I'd never by through Play Trade or the Amazon version of it. Worse than ebay in my experience.

I didn't buy through a trader. I just clicked 'BUY' This was on Play's own page.

I think the resellers on the play website are all the people who sell under the "play trade" name.

re: Play.com /??Play Trade..click BUY with care

I have had excellent service from play.com - the company

However, for traders operating under the "market place type of situation" caveat emptor.

Under the BUY button in small letters it says "In stock at PlayTrade"

I am also amazed. I asked what they would do & the guy said there wasn't much they could do. He was talking from an Indian call center.
