Sorry for duplicating a thread I put in general topics, but I know many in this forum are keen on overseas purchases
Some good news
BBC NEWS | Business | Internet shoppers get duty break
Quote:
Internet shoppers will not have to pay customs duty on items they have bought for less than 150 euros - currently worth about £127 - from outside the EU.
The change, which comes into force on 1 December, extends the duty-free limit for goods bought online from 22 euros, HM Revenue and Customs says.
The move will benefit thousands of collectors who buy items such as CDs from the US which had a 3% import duty.

Mind you, £127 doesn't go far in digital camera land.
But nevertheless, there are lots of accessories, some basic lenses, etc, that will fit nicely into that category.
Pity the dollar exchange rate had to nose dive at the same moment
